Instead of one cup of sliced almonds, I use a cup each of whole almonds, walnut pieces and pecan pieces (3 cups of nuts total).  

I also add in about a half cup of ground flaxseed.  

I use 1 teaspoon of coarse sea salt (gives it a sweet/salty flavor I love!) 

And 4 Tablespoons (instead of teaspoons) of vanilla.

Other than these ingredient tweaks, I follow the epicurious recipe.  Mmmm, I might need to make a batch now myself!
